This was the first southern garden party since before the pandemic, so I was thrilled to be able to get there from Brighton where I live with my Scottie, Winnie and her friend Rosie. The day dawned with the sun shining brightly. There was plenty of free parking with plenty of room for Scotties to run around safely.
There was also an adjoining field where people could picnic, so we did. And we held the dog show there. All the Scotties took part and were applauded by their owners. Even my Winnie came third in the sit and stay challenge, so anything is possible!
We went back to the hall for tea and cake. Margaret Mabon’s carrot cake was incredible. The stalls, manned by various STECS trustees, were full of goodies. And the tombola and raffle for the Radley handbag went very well.
The attendance on the day was good. We met old friends and greeted new ones, and everybody stayed until the end, at 4pm. There were some very tired Scotties on our journey home. A big thank you to all the STECS trustees and members who helped on the day, and to all the lovely people who turned up with their Scotties.
